 The Money Weavings are my signature series of mixed media contemporary fiber art works. Using money as a fiber material in my work adds a dimension and introspection.  The money I use is real American currency in the form of $100 bills, taken out of circulation by the Federal Reserve Bank.  They are crispy new, sliced into very thin strips. Perfect for weaving. Money weaves in well with other yarns and adds a textural dimension that provokes intorspection and dialog. 

I design and create my tapestries by hand on complex looms using traditional techniques used worldwide. I manipulate them into contemporary relevance by extracting portions and substituting unexpected, upcycled materials to express my artistic vision.

The Money Weavings explore and celebrate ways in which money is invested in our lives. Jewels are a series of 4 related art works I created that celebrate the glam of Miami Beach. This ever-changing, exotic destination is supercharged, energized! A tropical island paradise floating in a turquoise Atlantic, surrounded by lush, vibrant foliage! It attracts the rich and famous with their bling and fast cars, their stories and scandals.
