I will show you the basics of knitting. First we will practice "casting on" - putting stitches onto the knitting needle. Then we will practice plain knitting, called "garter stitch" where we knit across the row and repeat on the following rows.
Quick learners with nimble fingers can advance to "purl" stitches, a variation of the knit stitch.
Purl is alternated with rows of kniting to create "stockinette stitch". (See image - front and back are different)This may require an additional class. Stockinette is commonly used in most knitting patterns for sweater, hats, throws, scarves, etc. It forms the foundation for fancy decorative stitches like popcorns and cables.
Class fees are $40/hour, 2 hour minimum. BYO needles and yarn to practice at home.
