Our Most Recent Project
In 2021 we created a powerful installation, Julia Tuttle The Mural, a monumental textile collage, a tribute to the only woman in the US who has ever founded a city. A remarkable accomplishment for a woman, especially in 1896. A two-year project, Julia Tuttle The Mural was reinvented in 2020 to accommodate quarantine and isolation of the ongoing pandemic. Despite callenges, we persisted and met our goal: to present the mural to the public on the 125th anniversary of the City of Miami, July 28. 2021.
Julia Tuttle The Mural is currently on view at HistoryMiami Museum in the Folklife Gallery.
Community engagement - Staying focused on positivity during the pandemic was our goal in 2019 and 2020. So focused our attention on baby birds crocheting 100 nests for Pelican Harbor Seabird Station.
Personal projects - During lock down we designed and made wearable art masks for personal use.
Social commentary - We mourned the loss of Ruth Bader Ginsberg by making lacey jabots to wear to the polls.
