Embroidery is a series of hand stitches that are used to create decorative patterns and textures with colorful emboidery threads.
I will show you how to make basic stitches like the straight stitch, running stitch, back stitch, and stem stitch. As you progress we will practice lazy daiseys, chains, satin stitches and my favorite - French Knots!
I will guide you to create your own simple embroidery design that you can apply to a shirt collar, dress hem or anywhere! A flower, a motif, an initial - anything can be an embroidery design.
Please bring a small 6" - 8" wooden embroidery hoop, embroidery needles, plain cotton fabric larger than the hoop, and thread scissors. I can provide embroidery thread or you can bring your own if you have color preferences, and I have fabric to practice with..
Class fees $40/hour, 2-hour minimum per session. Adults and children can do this!
