QUAKER PARROT / FEATHER SERIES
Enchanting small work from my Feather Series. I wove this diminutive beauty on a tiny hand loom using soft yarns. The yarn colors equate the vivid greens of the very
vocal QUAKER PARROTS who nest in colonies in palm tree trunks all over the island of Miami Beach. At dusk, these birds gather up their roommates by flying in groups of pairs squawking loudly as they collect their flock from around the island.
Feathers gifted by local birds are woven into the artwork.

Mixed media fiber art wall art. Hand woven cotton yarn and found feathers.
The weaving is hand stitched crisp white onto linen cloth over a 14” x 14” internal frame.
Ready to hang.
