Amber
Amber, the golden jewel, has been coveted since earliest of days. Ambers vary in color from pale yellow to warm honey to deep gloden brown - and even green! It is said to have magical properties, deflecting bad vibes from the wearer. Very useful these days.
My Amber tapestry is a conceptual mixed media work of contemporary art, hand woven with unconventional materials. I placed strands of rich amber-toned silk threads into the weaving with sparkly metallic threads, and a quantity of thinly sliced US currency, one-hundred-dollar-bills, my signature compnent in all of The Money Weavings I create. Notice the black diamond shapes in the weave structure. This black linen yarn as well as all materials, are woven together simultaneously. Nothing is added!
I hand stitched the finished art work onto black cloth which in turn is stretched and mounted onto an internal frame. Amber can be hung as is or add your choice of external framing to suit your decor..
